Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born March 14th, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio U.S.A. Biles was the first female gymnast in history to be awarded four gold medals in only one Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she also became the first woman to win consecutive World All-around Championships (2013-15). Biles was born and raised on the streets of Spring Texas, in the Houston metro area. Both she and her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone discovered her love for gymnastics at age six during a day-care field trip to Bannon's Gymnastix and she remained there for 11 years under direction of her coach Aimee Boorman. Biles took home the gold medal in the floor and vault competitions at the 2010 Women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the highest level of competition in 2011. In just two short years she was the very best in her sport. Biles's steadfastness, her enthusiastic attitude and level of effort in her four events -- vault uneven bars, floor exercise, vault uneven bars, balance beam floor exercise as well as floor exercise -- made her above the others.
